French VAT at 20% applies to a charter in French waters; the customary MYBA gratuity is 5 to 15%.
Do I need a boat licence to charter a yacht in Cannes?
Not for a skippered or crewed charter: the professional captain holds the qualifications and runs the boat. A licence recognised in France is only required if you charter bareboat and skipper the boat yourself.
